A Taste of Honey (Shattered Globe Theatre) – 5/30/08

Shattered Globe put on a powerfully-acted revival of Shelagh Delaney's "A Taste of Honey" (5/30/08). Premiered in 1958, it's amazing how contemporary much of the themes/situations in "Honey" are: overt sexuality, single motherhood, homosexuality. But what struck me as most potent about the play was its discourse on what family is and how one can find it in the most unexpected vessels.
