I do not profess to be a music expert, let alone a Messiaen fan, but something really moved me about this mixed poetry/music bill that I caught in Fulton Hall at the University of Chicago. There is something primal yet romantic about the work I heard here (piano, violin, voice), especially as performed in an intimate recital hall as it is here.Rating: **** (out of *****)
