Chicago Shakespeare Theater won this year's Tony Award for best regional theater because of programming like this summer's "Funk It Up About Nothin'" (7/16/08), the hip-hop / rap adaptation of the Bard's "Much Ado About Nothing". It's firecracker production, which I really appreciated for its successful attempt at stretch the boundaries of theater. It's intensely performed by its young cast, who were clearly having a ball up there ... as was the audience.
